Respect your sisters and their property.
Try to talk out any problems you have with a sister one on one. If it cannot be solved in this way, please approach a house officer. Penalties will be dealt to sisters with numerous issues with others.
Maintain a 2.25 semester & cumulative GPA.
If you fall below 2.25 GPA, you will no longer be considered in good academic standing. Consequences may include but are not limited to inability to participate in sports and club activities, limited social events, or even being kicked out of the house. If you notice your grades slipping, contact the house officers and they will do their best to help.
Attendance to Sigma Kappa meetings, events, and functions is mandatory.
If you will be missing any official house function, you need to alert a house officer ahead of time. Members who miss any mandatory function will face disciplinary action.
Sisters should refrain from activites which may harm the reputation of Sigma Kappa.
Please behave accordingly. Mistakes happen, and we want you to enjoy life to the fullest, but hearing good things about Sigma Kappa is always the favorable option.
Hazing is not permitted.
If the house officers see any hazing going on, the offender(s) will be disciplined according to the severity of the violation.
Absolutely no alcoholic beverages are to be giving to minors.
You will be punished and risk being removed from the sorority if you are caught giving alcohol to anyone under the legal age. In addition, every sister should use discretion in regards to alcoholic beverages, as it may cause behaviors which may tarnish the name of the sorority.
Chores are to be shared.
Housework will be equally divied up among the sisters, with everyone expected to do their share. More intense cleaning will happen once a season, but a party will be made of it.
Company is allowed, but be mindful of your sisters.
Guests are allowed in all common areas of the house. We are all adults with needs, but be careful and tie your Sigma Kappa scarf on the doorknob to warn anyone who might need to talk to you. If you have a roommate, you must get their approval for such activities in the room prior to doing anything.
Pets are allowed, with proper care.
If you are keeping a pet in the Sigma Kappa house, you are required to clean up and look after them. Respect those with allergies and keep them in your room.
Being in a sorority is about relationships and networking.
Please don't be afraid to suggest event ideas to attract more people. If it benefits a charity, even better.
